Oitavos Dunes Golf Course is a links-style course with some of the most beautiful views in Portugal.
The golfers will enjoy playing on this 18 hole, par 72 championship layout that features rolling hills and sandy dune areas to provide an unforgettable experience for all levels from beginner up to professional golfer alike!
Built in 2017, the West Cliffs Golf Course has shot up our list providing an absolutely outstanding round of golf on the Atlantic Coast some 60 minutes from Lisbon.
If you can keep you eyes on the golf course for long enough, this is a challenging championship golf course and being on the coast, the wind can play an important part.
Like all great courses, there are some unforgettable holes that you just can’t wait to return to and play again.
Considered by some to be in the Top 5 golf course in Portugal, the Troia Golf Course is a must for any golfer. It is situated about an hour and 15 minutes from Lisbon, but the drive will be worth it!
The course was designed by renowned golf architect Gil Hanse who has created some of America’s most famous courses including the Olympic Club in San Francisco as well as Chambers Bay near Seattle which hosted The US Open
Situated on the Silver Coast, only 10 mins for West Cliffs, the Praia D’el Rey is a fantastic track with a memorable back 9 playing alongside the Atlantic Coast.
This links-style course has deep bunkers, sloping greens, lots of sand dunes set against lush fairways against the blue ocean and a never-ending view across the Atlantic.
Difficult to beat!
Finally, on our top 10 for Portugal, we would recommend Penha Longa which is ranked in the top 30 courses in Europe.
It’s a great course for bold drives while the artful greens make the approach and putting part of your game you need to bring with you.
Having hosted the Portuguese Open, this is a great championship test for all golfers.
A little further north, a little distance outside Lisbon, is the Royal Obidos Golf Course.
This course has a par of 71, and it’s one that you can’t miss! It was designed by Peter Allis in 1979 with 18 holes for golfers to enjoy on this challenging but fun-filled track
The Quinta do Peru Golf Course is a course that has been designed by the famous golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr.
This 18-hole championship par 72 track will challenge any level of golfer with its elevation changes and water hazards! It’s one you won’t want to miss out on playing while in Lisbon for your next golf holiday.
Set within a stunning pinewood with a number of lakes in play, the Faldo Course at Amen is a year-round favourite.
It is around 25km from the centre of Lisbon, in the Setubal Peninsula, only 600 meters from the beach and has one of the largest golf complexes in Lisbon.
Designed by Frank Pennink, the nature dictates the course strategy!
