Gents OPEN competition 26th JULY 2009
One of Scotland´s hidden gems Fort Augustus was laid out in 1924 by Harry Shapland Colt on the banks of the Caledonian Canal near Loch Ness. It's a traditional heathland course and is widely regarded as the most challenging 9 hole course in Scotland. There are dual tee positions giving the course a true 18 hole feel.
The dense gorse and heather that line the long narrow fairways demand accurate driving.Putting too is a real challenge with the sloping heavily undulated greens varying in speed depending on the weather conditions. The scenary never loses it's breathtaking appeal to those who have played here in the past or are visiting for the first time. Our clubhouse is small and cosy which allows us to offer a personal welcome to all who play here and our licenced bar and selection of hot and cold snacks make it the perfect place to relax after your round.
