**Thorndon Park Golf Club** has been a members golf club since 1920 and remains one of the **best golf courses in Essex.**
Welcome to the **Thorndon Park Golf Club**, where our course is a classic design from 1920 by Harry Shapland Colt. He was one of the greatest golf architects and created an challenging course for players of all standards with its Palladian mansion in 240 acres of deer park space.
The quick greens will present you a stern test when it comes to your putting skills, but don't worry because this beautiful surroundings make up for that!
Our good drainage during winter time means we have courses conditions year round which are worth their while even if they're not on premises as well!
The 6492 yard par 71 oak lined course is set on 240 acres designed and laid out by Harry S Colt and C H Alison.
The highest part of the course is 300 feet above sea level and from the clubhouse you look south across miles of rolling country to the long line of Kentish hills in the distance.
Everywhere there is masses of room so that one hole does not encroach on another. Many of the fairways run between banks of trees mostly oaks some of which are at least 500 years old.
The eighteenth hole is quite stunning with the palladian magnificence of Thorndon Hall site of the old clubhouse lending a delightful backdrop to an enjoyable round of golf.
