Just outside the centre of Inverness Founded in 1962, Torvean Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Inverness to the south. Originally a 9-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes in 1988. The club enjoys a large membership of over 800 and is continuing to grow. From 1st of June 2002 the Club signed a 20-year lease to manage and maintain the golf course on behalf of the Highland Council.
Maintained to a very high standard by the greens staff, the parkland style golf course offers a fair test of golf to players of all abilities. The informal nature of the club appeals not only to the serious golfer but also to those wishing to try golf for the first time.
The course and the club are ever improving and there are many well supported Open Competitions throughout the year.
Torvean Golf Course overlooks the historic Caledonian Canal and River Ness, with a 400 acre well-maintained mature parkland of geologically important Torvean Hill being the central feature.
Fortunate to share our course with some local wildlife such as deer, red squirrels, rabbits and hares that we can see roaming around from time to time; not forgetting otters! Swans have set up home at Torvean while ducks and even red kites fly overhead too - it's an amazing site for nature lovers like me who love golfing in Scotland all year round!
