Golf Ibiza has a long and rich history. The first golf course on the island opened in 1972 with 9 holes, but 20 years later this number was expanded to 18 when Golf Club of Roca Llisa merged with another local club called Ibiza Golf Club under its current name: "Golf"

The early courses were updated over time as they grew more popular and fashionable for tourists visiting from all around the world; most recently in 2012 - 2013 the old nine-hole layout underwent renovations that included new greenside bunkers, larger tees boxes, better drainage channels and improved irrigation systems.
