This is a private members club situated in a private community on Florida's Gulf Coast south of Tampa where wealthy retirees are situated. The course is a Jack Nicklaus "Signature" design created in collaboration with Tony Jacklin. In 1969, Jack Nicklaus was playing in the final match of the Ryder Cup and none other than Royal Birkdale. (https://www.mulliganplus.com/club/370/Royal-Birkdale-Golf-Club). After putting a four-foot putt for par, the game was tied with Tony Jacklin left with a two-footer, to tie. Nicklaus conceded the hole resulting in the first tie in the history of the Ryder Cup. This act came to be known as the "Concession". Today the Concession not only has a stunning 18 hole course which hosted the WGC-Mexico Championship in 2021 (due to COVID) but it actually has one of the best par-3 courses in teh world. It is a private club so there is not much chance for most of us to play it!
