This is an incredible long and straight ball that is supersoft to play with. The ball design is to ensure maximum forgiveness to encourage long and straight shots to help you score better on the course.

Finding the right golf ball for you

The best way to find the perfect ball for you is by getting on the course and personally testing the golf ball.

However, without an unlimited budget and some spare time, we need to get a headstart by knowing where to start.

To begin with, golf balls can be categorized into three main categories: Value, Premium and Tour.

Almost all major manufacturers produce a selection of each with most specialising in either the Value and Premium or the Premium and the Tour models.

What are the best golf balls for your game

Golf companies today spend hundreds of hours and millions of pounds each year trying to unlock the science behind making the best golf balls. They are all fighting to find the ultimate balance between spin and speed for the full range of golfers out there. But the right ball for you is that mixture of your golfing ability, your club speed and your wallet.

The Pro V1 and Pro V1x remain the golf ball of choice for the majority of tour players. In 2019, Titleist claimed that over 80% of Tour Players were using the Pro V1 week-to-week (PGA Tour Website)

Even if you can afford them, even only as a treat sometimes, they may not be the right ball for you. If you find yourself getting nervous teeing up the ball worrying about a slice and losing the ball, then perhaps a sleeve of 3 in the bag is enough for open fairways and special rounds.

Over the last few years, we have always gravitated to the Srixon AD333 or the Callaway Warbird. The Warbird is very well priced so you don’t mind standing on the tee taking on a water obstacle. It is also designed for distance so if you are connecting with the ball well, they will travel as well.

If you are looking for the best golf ball to play when your game is struggling or you are just not hitting the ball well, then these should be on your Christmas list.

The RBZ Soft from TaylorMade are the most cost-effective and forgiving balls on the market today. The soft ionomer cover is great for short game performance while they try to maximise distance off the team.

They come in the traditional white and yellow (but we are not sure who actually buys yellow balls) and the best golf ball for the occasional golfer who is playing golf simply to enjoy the weekend.

The TP5x is designed to knock the Pro V1 off the top spot, or at least dislodge it slightly. Made by TaylorMade, these are top of the range, 5 piece golf balls that come with the tag line –

“GAINS OVER CLAIMS. NO BALLSH*T. ONLY PERFORMANCE.”

Priced around 25% lower than the Pro V1, these are the ultimate competitors to Titleist’s dominance in the Tour golf ball realm

The Callaway Supersoft is a long, straight distance ball that’s incredibly soft to help golfers with feel and also to shot-stopping spin to help it stay on the greens.

While not the longest golf ball, the design helps reduce drag to increase carry.

This is a friendly golf ball for the part-time golfer.
