cheaper alternative to pro v1

The Titleist Prove V1 and the Pro V1x remain the most desirable golf ball on the market. But there are cheaper alternatives

The Pro V1 are special because they offer three-piece, multi-component technology with very soft compression. What this means is that they offer a high spin on the greens while at the same time reducing spin off the driver.

But at over £50 a dozen, they break the bank. So are there Pro V1 alternatives?

The Pro V1 and Pro V1x remain the golf ball of choice for the majority of tour players. In 2019, Titleist claimed that over 80% of Tour Players were using the Pro V1 week-to-week (PGA Tour Website)

Even if you can afford them, even only as a treat sometimes, they may not be the right ball for you. If you find yourself getting nervous teeing up the ball worrying about a slice and losing the ball, then perhaps a sleeve of 3 in the bag is enough for open fairways and special rounds.

VICE is a DTC (Direct To Customer) golf ball company meaning they can offer excellent golf balls at excellent prices because they do not have to spend the money on sponsorship etc.

The PRO Plus 2020 is VICEs answer to the Pro V1 and the Pro V1x competing with them for similar spin across the Driver, Mid-Iron and Wedge range.

As such, this is. areal alternative to the Pro V1.

If you are looking to save money, then the Tour B XS is one option however the new Tour B RXS is more expensive than the Pro V1 at present.

These are designed for top-level golfers with what they call a Gradation Core which is meant to give you more distance performance.

The SlipRes cover also provides a softer feel but also helps the ball last longer which is pretty important when considering the price.

The TP5x is designed to knock the Pro V1 off the top spot, or at least dislodge it slightly. Made by TaylorMade, these are top of the range, 5 piece golf balls that come with the tag line –

“GAINS OVER CLAIMS. NO BALLSH*T. ONLY PERFORMANCE.”

Priced around 25% lower than the Pro V1, these are the ultimate competitors to Titleist’s dominance in the Tour golf ball realm

At almost 50% less than the Titleist Pro V1 and the TaylorMade TP5x, this golf ball is one to keep on the radar.

Designed to offer maximum greenside spin, the cover was designed to bite at impact. With the 338 speed dimple pattern it competes with the best golf balls on the market.
